Josiah's Miracle
Wendy Abbott

Josiah, a 41⁄2 year old boy,  was born with a disease called neurofibromatosis, NF for short. This disease creates tumors on the nerve endings that vary in size from very small to extremely large. One of the most common places for these tumors to grow is in the brain or on the face. This causes the body to become deformed.
Josiah has a large facial tumor which began to show when he was just a year old. It is now so big that it is causing him breathing problems, besides affecting his appearance and consequently how he feels about himself.
On Friday, July 13th, an MRI of Josiah’s tumor was done in preparation for a facial surgery scheduled for August14th.  His eye doctor was concerned because past MRI’s have shown the tumor wrapping itself completely around the left optic nerve. His left eye is already very fragile, so there was concern that the optic nerve could be torn.
When I asked the Lord how I should pray about Josiah’s condition I felt the Lord tell me to pray that the tumor would draw back away and release the optic nerve. I asked a few friends at church to pray in agreement with me.

On Thursday, July 19th , with the full report in my hand, I called the eye doctor’s office to schedule an appointment. When the doctor called me back later that afternoon her first words were ‘you know who this is and I have good news!’

“Yes” I said smiling, just waiting for her to confirm what I was understanding in the report.

“There is no tumor around or anywhere near the optic nerve. It is healthy and the right shape!”

We give God all the glory and all the praise for the beginning of another miracle in Josiah’s little body.
